[Rose stares analytically at a point above the camera; she's propped the journal in front of a mirror. She inspects herself for a moment- individual strands of hair, the corners of her eyes. She seems to find nothing of interest.]

Question for the lot o' ya. Are we gettin' older? Agin', I mean? All these months, and I honestly can't tell. I mean, my hair's been growin', but my actual age... huh.

That's hard for me to say, since I don't age. A more significant amount of time would have to pass before I'd be able to see a change in one of you, as well.

It is an interesting question, though.

I judge the passage of time in relationship to historical eras. For example, the Victorian Era, or the Industrial Age, or the Cold War.

Until recently, I could not have much contact with humans, so basing it on their passing lifetimes was impossible. Most of them died too quickly regardless, especially before the invention of modern medicine. It's a bit different now.

...That is a good question.

And if we're not, does that mean we're not allowed to have birthday parties? Since they basically wouldn't be counting. That would suck.

You really think this place could do that? I'm not saying your wrong or nothing like that, just a bit curious about it myself. I haven't been here as long so I wouldn't know yet.

We won't be aging.

Neither do the ducks, by the way.

[He does a sort of a double take, then gestures to himself]

Me? John and I figured it out. Well, mostly me.
